Here I go, off into... I don't know what.
Art is older than language, you know. Maybe it came into being the first time a human being chose one rock to make a tool out of over another because of its color. Maybe it was the first time someone noticed the pattern in a flower, or looked at the sky and saw a cloud that looked like a mammoth. I don't know exactly how it happened, but I know it was the first time someone looked past the practical and saw something else...
